Lady Hornet Grapplers Top Muncy On Senior Night, Boys Fall

The Wellsboro Girls Wrestling team defeated Muncy 36-9 Thursday for Senior Night, wrapping up their regular season.
The boys team fell on the evening, 47-18.
The Lady Hornets took six of the eight matches on the evening. Sophomore Isla Twoey earned a forfeit at 100 lbs., junior Kaelyn Peterson scored a 32 second pin over Adelynn Holmes at 130 lbs., sophomore Katie Whitney pinned Lillian Kramer in 2:21 at 136 lbs., freshman Peyton Weatherby scored a forfeit at 142 lbs., freshman Riley Kilburn won via forfeit at 170 lbs., and freshman Phoebe Bowen scored a one minute pin over Paige Dunham-Lester at 190 lbs.
Wellsboro won three matches in the boys' contest. Freshman Mason Greene scored a pin over Chris Cummins at 114 lbs., junior Wyatt Kilburn pinned Cameron Caldwell at 172 lbs., and senior Hayden Stevens pinned Dylan Sander at 215 lbs.
The Hornets conclude their regular season at 1-23 (0-8 NTL) while the girls team finished 4-2.
