Hornet Wrestling Teams Fall To Jersey Shore

The Wellsboro Wrestling teams dropped matches to Jersey Shore Tuesday evening.
The boys team fell 47-18 while the girls team was edged, 30-27.
In the boys match, three Hornets earned victories. Freshman Mason Greene started it off with a 1:47 pin against Travis Merrill at 107 lbs., then senior Vaughn Shannon pinned Draylen Phillips in 2:40 at 127 lbs.
Senior Hayden Stevens later pinned Bo Sechrist at 215 lbs.
Jersey Shore took 8 matches on the evening, winning 5 via forfeit with two pins and a tech fall.
In the girls match sophomore Isla Twoey (100), sophomore Katie Whitney (136), and freshman Phoebe Bowen (190) all won via forfeit. Senior Kodi Passmore pinned Gracie Hostrander in 2:34 at 118 lbs. and sophomore Rosa Sguera won a 10-5 decision against Aaralynn Kimble at 124 lbs.
Both teams won five matches each, but the Lady 'Dawgs edged the Lady Hornets two pins to one.
Both teams are back in action Thursday against Muncy for Senior Night.
