Junior Owen Covert took home third place at Sectionals on Saturday, February 14 to advance to Districts.

Covert won his first match of the day over Towanda's Larry Kithcart by pin in 1:09 and then beat Sullivan County's Jermey Houck in 59 seconds to advance. In the semi-finals Covert fell to Wyalusing's Dawson Otis by a 3-1 decision, sending him into the third place match. There, Covert faced Liberty's Justin Kriner. Kriner took Covert down and had him on his back, but Covert fought it off and flipped the script getting Kriner on his back before he finished it off with a pin in 4:22.

Senior Jack Chambers didn't have the luck Covert did on the day. In his first match, he was pinned in 5:22 by Troy's Colin MacWhinnie. He won his second match over Northeast Bradford's Donald Michalkiewecz by pin in 3:35, but lost his third match to Liberty's Sean Kshir to end his day.

Covert's third place finish advances him to Districts which will take place this Friday and Saturday at Williamsport High School.
