Hornets fall to NTL rival Troy

The Troy Trojans defeated Wellsboro 64-15 last night in NTL Large School wrestling action. Juniors Adam Cleveland, Chad Daugherty, and Eli Kennedy won the only matches for the Hornets on the night. Cleveland won by decision at 113 lbs. against Jared Spalding, Daugherty pinned Blair Bennett in 4:39 at 195 lbs., and Kennedy pinned Skyler Drake in 1:59 at 220 lbs. The loss drops Wellsboro's record to 2-16 overall (0-2 NTL Large School).
In Middle School action, Troy defeated Wellsboro 78-6. Wellsboro's only win came by forfeit at 75 lbs. With the loss, Wellsboro is now 1-3 on the season.
The Varsity squad also competed in the Mifflin County Duals over the weekend. The Hornets went 0-4 on the afternoon, falling to Altoona 65-18, DuBois 67-10, Mifflin County 67-3, and Wilson Area 34-24.
